Affirming Religious Community

The Affirming Religious Community mission is to provide social, educational, and theological opportunities with an affirming perspective on sexual orientation to Perkins students and their partners.

ARC is an organized interest group at Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University.

Fall 2010 Semester

• Tuesday, August 24, 2010 = First day of Fall Classes
• Wednesday, September 1= Interested Student Community Lunch
• Thursday, September 16 = Movie Night: For the Bible Tells Me So (6-9pm)
• Tuesday, September 21 = CHAP (11:30-1:30 with lunch)
• Thursday, October 7 = Perkins Chapel: National Coming Out Day Worship
• Tuesday, November 16 = CHAP (11:30 – 1:30 with lunch)
• Wednesday, November 24 = Last day of Fall Classes
• December 7-10 = Fall Finals

Spring 2011 Semester

• Thursday, January 20, 2011 = First day of Spring classes
• Tuesday, February 1 = CHAP (11:30-1:30 with lunch)
• Thursday, March 10 = Movie Night: Call Me Malcolm (6-9pm)
• Tuesday, March 29 = CHAP: ALLIES Training (11:30-1:30 with lunch)
• Thursday, April 14 = Perkins Chapel: National Day of Silence Worship
• Friday, April 29 = End of Year Celebration (Last day of Spring classes)
• May 6-11 = Spring Finals
